K.Bhagyaraj returns
Still regarded as Tamil cinemas greatest screenplay writer, K.Bhagyaraj returns to what he does best - writing and directing - in the forthcoming film Siddhu Plus 2 1st Attempt.
Bhagyaraj’s son, Santhanu, will play the lead role. The handsome Santhunu made his adult debut in Sakkarakatti which vanished from circuit soon after it was released. Now Bhagyaraj intends to boost his son’s career with this comedy entertainer that will see Santhunu opposite debutante actress, Chandhini. Rajesh, Seetha and Ganja Karruppu are in the supporting cast.
Back in 2006, Bhagyaraj broke a long spell of absence when he wrote and directed the memorable Paarijaadham, which launched his daughter Saranya as an actress. The film proved that he was able to move with the times and write a screenplay that still worked wonders with a new generation audience.
Can he do the same for his son? Given his past record, it is a safe assumption that he will have another hit on his hands.
Bhagyaraj’s own production company KBR Medias Private Limited will join hands with Moserbaer Entertainment to produce this film.
This youthful romantic entertainer tells the story of two youngsters (Santhunu and Chandhini) who fail their Plus Two examinations and run away from their homes to escape the certain trauma and humiliation they would face from their parents. They meet at a railway station and the common bond soon brings them together. How this relationship grows and how their problems are eventually resolved forms the rest of the story.
The comedy between Santhunu and Ganja Karuppu is said to be the highlight of the film.
The film’s audio CD, which features the music of Dharan, will be released on 31 October. Forthe first time Yuvanshanker Raja will sing for another music composer. Director Venkat Prabhu (Chennai 600 028 and Saroja) has also lent his voice to one of the songs.
The film will be released in the first week of December.
