Venkat Prabhu : A journey from Chennai to Goa
After only two films as director, Venkat Prabhu is already hot property and spoken of in the same terms as industry leaders like Goutham Vasudeva Menon and A.R.Murugadhaas.
The son of writer-director-singer-music composer Gangaiamaren, he made his debut as director in Chennai 600 028, a film that introduced a wide range of new talent andĀ enraptured audiences with its realism and honest handling. This was followed by the comedy suspense thriller Saroja which earned him more accolades.
His work in Chennai 600 028 led to him being offered his third assignment by none other than Soundarya Rajinikanth. The film is Goa and is already being spoken of in glowing terms by those who know something about it but are still keeping a tight silence on the plot. The film stars Piya (introduced in Ajith’s Yegan), Sneha and Hollywood actress Juliana Fine in the female leads.
The latest buzz is that Nayanthara has been roped in to play an important guest role.
Venkat Prabhu’s younger brother, Premji Amaren, will also play a major role in Goa.
