Sigappu Rojakkall to be remade
Bharathiraja’s classic suspense thriller, Sigappu Rojakkall, is to be remade early next year and the man at the helm will be Bharathiraja’s son, Manoj.
Manoj made his film debut as a directorial assistant to Manirathinam and later worked with Shankar. He made his acting debut under his father’s direction in Taj Mahal but the film was a box-office disaster. His other film credits include Alli Arjuna and Varushamellaam Vasantham.
Now he is hard at work planning the remake of one of his father’s most successful films and has roped in Yuvanshanker Raja to score the music. Yuvan’s father, Illaiyaraja, had scored the music in the original.
K.R.Gangadharan, who produced the original, will also produce the remake.
